Malachi DeBerry Death & Obituary: Brooklyn police are actively searching for the individual they believe is responsible for the shooting death of a teenager at a public housing project. The homicide occurred on Saturday evening, October 26, around 11:44 p.m. at the Whitman Houses, located at 32 Auburn Place in Fort Greene, according to law enforcement sources.
Responding to a 911 call about the shooting, officers from the 88th Precinct and NYPD PSA 3 found a 15-year-old boy who had been shot in the chest. Emergency medical services transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The victim has been identified as Malachi DeBerry.
