School In Mourning After Tragic Crash Kills 11-Year-Old Student Jack Davey

A tragic incident occurred when a car crashed through the fence of Auburn South Primary School in Hawthorn East, Melbourne.

Police report that a 40-year-old woman drove to the school to pick up a child just after 2:30 PM on Tuesday afternoon when her vehicle veered off the road and crashed through the school’s fence.

The Major Collision Investigation Unit is currently looking into the fatal accident. The driver was arrested at the scene but has since been released pending further inquiries. Fortunately, her passenger, a student at the school, did not sustain any injuries.

Sadly, a boy named Jack was taken to the hospital with critical injuries but later died. Additionally, two 11-year-old girls, a 10-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy were also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

A concerned parent shared with 3AW that her son was standing near the children who were struck. “This really is every person’s worst nightmare,” she remarked. “I just really hope they are all okay.”

It is believed that the children were on a break when the crash occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
