Mark Thresher Death, Obituary: Mark Raymond Thresher, of Powell, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the age of 67. Mark was remembered as a true gentleman, loyal friend, patient mentor, proud grandfather, devoted husband, dedicated father, and passionate professional.
Mark began his career at KPMG and later joined Peat Marwick, serving as an accountant before joining Nationwide Insurance, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the business over 25 years. For the last 12 years of his tenure, he served as Chief Financial Officer, bringing intelligence, determination, and unwavering dedication to his work and creating a wonderful life for his family.
A devoted community leader, Mark served COSI for 15 years, including six as chairman, and gave back to Otterbein University, his alma mater, with 21 years on the board, eight as chairman. He took great pride in supporting the people and institutions that shaped his journey.
Mark’s pride in his family was evident to all who knew him. He loved sharing photos, sports highlights, and updates about his beloved grandchildren. An avid golfer, Mark cherished time spent creating memories with family and friends. He grew up in the church and valued using his talents to serve both God and his community, holding leadership roles at Powell United Methodist Church.
Visitation & Funeral Plans
Family and friends are welcome for visitation at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, Ohio, on November 1, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on November 2, 2024, at Powell United Methodist Church, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. and the service commencing at 10:30 a.m.

The burial will follow at McKean Memorial Park in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania, on November 7, 2024.
