Brooklynn Riley Death & Obituary: Junior Brooklynn Grace Pendarvis, Highland High School Student Died in car accident on northbound Kenworth, AR

Brooklynn Riley Death & Obituary: The Highland School District is mourning the heartbreaking loss of junior Brooklynn Grace Pendarvis, whose sudden passing has left a deep sense of grief throughout the entire community. The sorrow is felt even more profoundly by her mother, Mrs. Andrea Pendarvis, a beloved teacher in the district, making this tragedy especially personal for many.

During this incredibly difficult time, the district is united in its support for the Pendarvis family. The strength of our community is evident as we come together to offer comfort and stand by those in need. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and condolences from friends, colleagues, and community members. This overwhelming kindness has been a source of strength for both the Pendarvis family and our school community as we navigate this period of immense sorrow. As Rebels, we are standing together, drawing strength from one another, and holding onto the memories of Brooklynn.

We ask everyone to continue keeping the Pendarvis family—Jody, Andrea, Ava, and Macie—in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this heart-wrenching time.

In Brooklynn’s honor, the Highland School District will have an early dismissal on Monday, September 16, to allow staff and students to attend her memorial services. Visitation and the funeral will be held at the A.L. Hutson Memorial Center in Highland, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.

To accommodate attendance, the school district will dismiss students as follows:

  • Buses will begin dismissing at 1:00 p.m.
  • Car riders at Highland Middle School and Highland High School will be dismissed after buses have departed.
  • Car riders and activity bus riders at Cherokee Elementary School will begin dismissing at 12:20 p.m.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Pendarvis family and will continue to honor Brooklynn’s memory, standing strong as a community.
