The family of a missing man has been informed after a body was discovered in a river in Cwmbran. While formal identification is still pending, the family of Richard Garner, who was reported missing, has been notified.
The 64-year-old was last seen at the boating lake on Llanfrecha Way, Cwmbran, around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21.
Gwent Police launched an appeal following his disappearance and confirmed that a man’s body was found on Sunday, September 22.
In a statement, the police said, “Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”

Authorities have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
