Alexandre Escobar Died in motorcycle crash in Tulsa, Memorial ride held in Claremore

On Friday, a heartfelt memorial ride was held in Claremore to honor Alexandre Escobar, a motorcyclist tragically killed in a crash on September 15 in Tulsa. Riders gathered at Route 66 Sports Bar, one of Alex’s favorite spots, to pay tribute to their friend and fellow rider.

Jake Browne, a close friend of Alex and an advocate for motorcycle safety, led the memorial ride. Reflecting on the risks motorcyclists face, Browne emphasized the need for greater road awareness.

“It’s something we need to be very aware of, it’s an epidemic,” Browne said. He shared a near-miss incident while preparing for the event, narrowly avoiding a head-on collision, highlighting the daily dangers motorcyclists encounter. “I’m going on three memorial rides this weekend for people who were lost in the last month. Two of them left very young children,” Browne said, underscoring the increasing number of motorcycle fatalities.

He urged all drivers to be more vigilant. “Taking five seconds to look might save someone’s life,” Browne stressed.

Alex was remembered by friends and family as a passionate motorcyclist. “He loved that bike. I’d see him at least two to three times a day, passing through town. We’d always wave,” Browne recalled.

Alex’s sister, Lillian Escobar, attended the memorial ride, sharing emotional memories of her brother. Wearing his favorite shirt, she expressed how much it meant to connect with his friends and visit places he loved. “Being here, meeting all his friends and seeing all his favorite places is making me feel really close to him,” Lillian said.

She fondly remembered Alex as a talented mechanic who enjoyed working on bikes as much as riding them.

The memorial ride not only honored Alex’s memory but also served as a somber reminder of the dangers motorcyclists face every day. For Browne and those who knew Alex, it was a chance to reflect on his life and to call for increased road safety.
