Gail Evans, Chief Digital and Technology Officer of Disney Experiences, has sadly passed away in Orlando, Florida, following an illness. Her leadership and innovative contributions to the entertainment and technology industries have left a significant impact, marking her passing as a profound loss for both fields. Throughout her career, Evans was recognized for her ability to seamlessly integrate digital advancements with Disney’s timeless storytelling, enhancing the audience experience.
Evans transformed the way millions interacted with Disney events through her vision of creating immersive environments using digital tools. In addition to her technical achievements, Evans was a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion within the tech sector.
Under her guidance, a global multidisciplinary team of digital, technology, product, data, and operations professionals was responsible for shaping and executing digital strategies for Disney Experiences worldwide. This team not only delivered innovative technological solutions but also developed exciting products and experiences, such as MagicBand+ and Hey Disney!, which blend the digital and physical realms, ensuring the continuation of Disney’s legendary storytelling.
Gail’s commitment to enhancing guest experiences drove her focus on innovation, leading to advancements in research methodologies and collaborative environments where Disney fans and creators could test new concepts.
With decades of experience in leveraging technology for growth and transformation, Gail Evans previously held senior leadership roles at prominent companies, including Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Bank of America, and Eastman Kodak Company, where she served as CIO of the Consumer Digital division. Most recently, she was the inaugural Chief Digital Officer at Mercer.
