Dalton Weise Moncks Corner, SC Death & Obituary: Dalton Alan Weise, 14, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, tragically passed away at his home on the evening of Wednesday, September 11, 2024. A vibrant 9th-grade student at Berkeley High School, Dalton was beloved by his community for his involvement in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities.
Funeral Services
Dalton’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Freedom Church, with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, September 16, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dial-Murray Funeral Home in Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jed Foundation or other suicide prevention programs in honor of Dalton’s memory.
Early Life and Achievements
Born on February 3, 2010, in North Charleston, South Carolina, Dalton was the cherished son of J.D. Weise and Amanda Brewer Weise. A dedicated honors student at Berkeley High School, Dalton was a proud member of the Junior Beta Club, recognized for his academic excellence. He was also an active member of Freedom Church, where he found community and support.
Rodeo Career
Dalton’s passion for rodeo began early, and he quickly made his mark in both local and national competitions. He competed in various rodeo associations, including the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) and the South Carolina High School Rodeo Association (SCHSRA). Among his many accomplishments, Dalton was a two-time Bareback Riding Champion and a reserve Bull Riding Champion. He also rode with the Shady Acres Rodeo and the Rockin G Mafia bull riding team. Recently, Dalton earned a prestigious number 9 world ranking in the Wrangler Youth Bull Riding (YBR) competition for his impressive skills.
Wrestling and Grappling Success
In addition to rodeo, Dalton excelled in grappling and wrestling. He trained at Black Force MMA, where he won numerous gold medals in grappling competitions. His success extended to the wrestling mat as well, where he joined Berkeley Wrestling and captured the Lower State Championship as an 8th grader.
Personal Interests
Dalton’s life extended beyond his athletic achievements. He was an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Green Bay Packers. In his free time, Dalton enjoyed hunting with friends and lifting weights at the gym with his father. His family and friends meant everything to him, and his strong relationships were a defining part of his life.
Survived By
Dalton is survived by his loving parents, Amanda Brewer Weise and J.D. Weise; his sister, Madisyn Weise, of Moncks Corner; and his brother, Craig Weise, of Edgefield. He is also survived by his grandparents, Bonnie & Todd Brewer of Moncks Corner, Sophia Atkinson of Summerville, Dodie Weise of Charleston, and Johnny Weise of Savannah, Georgia. His great-grandparents, Barbara & Tommy Atkinson of Summerville, Brenda Brewer, and Larry & Gail Connor, all of Moncks Corner, as well as Darlene Weise of Bonneau, also mourn his loss. Additionally, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends grieve alongside the family.
Dalton will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy as a talented, kind, and inspiring young man will live on.
